The RapcoHorizon SPL-1 Passive Speaker Level Direct Box is a great way to get your instrument's amplifier sound into the mixing
console (or any desired mic level input) without mic'ing it. This allows the pure punch and clarity of the amp to enter the console without
the undesired effects of mic'ing. For example, feedback or the bass drum bleeding into the mic that's supposed to mic only your amp. To
use it, simply plug the speaker output jack from the amplifier into the "amp in" jack of the box (YOU MUST USE A SPEAKER CABLE), and connect your
speakers (AGAIN, WITH A SPEAKER CABLE), into the "amp out" jack. Then plug a standard XLR mic cable into the Lo-Z output of the box to go to
the snake or mixing console. It has a ground lift switch for buzz-free operation in almost any environment. Box is made of 18 gauge steel
and has recessed connectors and switches to resist damage.
